The Thread of Life The thread of life It’s very thin But in average it’s longer Sometimes the thread is cut shorter For the person who cuts the thread Is often filled with dread Feeling alone again But there is always a special number for the phone But before the call breathe and count down 10~ alone again 9~ just think there is time 8~ might lose your fate 7~ it’s only eleven 6~ can break like sticks 5~ all will strive 4~ juts open the door 3~the pain interrupts abruptly 2~ you’re almost through 1~ no damage done Now feeling better Start growing stronger That is the thread of life Remember there is always someone here to help National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255 Poem by Allenah McGuire, Wolves Cry Staff Poet The National Honor Society would like to congratulate the Leaders of the Pack for the 3rd marking period! We would also like to congratulate the Teacher of the Month for February 2020, Mrs. Josie Feikls! She is well respected and loved by her students and colleagues. She spreads kindness in our district through the Kindness Project. Congratulations Mrs. Feikls! Well deserved! Students, faculty, and community members can nominate teachers and/or staff for Teacher of the Month through our website, or through paper copy. When we return to school I will be placing paper forms in each of the schools that can be returned directly to me. Thank you! Photos and article by: Mrs. Olson, HS NJHS Adviser Logan Gabriel, a 7th grade student at Kane Area Middle School, recently completed the school's Genre Challenge. This is the second year that Logan has successfully done so. To complete the challenge, Logan read books from eight different genres and successfully completed comprehension tests on the books.
Logan's favorite book from the challenge was The Big Game by Tim Green. His favorite genre is sports fiction, and his least favorite genre is biography. He was surprised that he liked Tuck Everlasting, a science fiction novel by Natalie Babbitt. Logan's favorite book of all time is White Fang by Jack London, and his favorite place to read is outside. Congratulations Logan! The Kane Area Middle School Accelerated Reader winners have been selected. Students earn points for tickets by taking comprehension tests on books they have read. The February winners are Troy Fleming (left, 7th grade), Steven Klaiber (center, 8th grade), and Sara Ely (right, 6th grade).
