Fluffy walked into the living room. They forgot to feed him AGAIN. HUMANS, So forgetful. He ran up to Mr. Post, his human, and meowed impatiently. “ Give me a break,” Mr.Post said. “Go and play with your chewed up mouse toys. “Fine, you asked for it,”. Thought Fluffy. HAAAAAAAAAACK! “EWW!! FLUFFY!!” A slimy hairball lay in Mr. Post’s lap. He grabbed fluffy and threw him outside . NOT AGAIN! Fluffy landed in that stuff that that dog produced that smelled like poo. Monday became two months for that poor cat, he never got anything he wanted! Suddenly that old mutt came barging out through the doggy door. ” YUM, THOSE TREATS HIT THE SPOT, DUDE!” He said, rather loudly. “You should try them!” Fluffy wasn’t very pleased. “ HISS! Can’t you bother someone else?!” Fluffy screeched. “No, your the only cat around in the neighborhood,” said the mutt, whose name was Sargon. “I don’t have time for this, ok? I really need to get back in the house.”” Fluffy said, impatiently. “I will eat you,” said Sargon. “ Sargon reached for Fluffy’s tail. “Oh, are we gonna play THIS game again!?” Fluffy said, slightly fearful. Sargon grabbed fluffy ‘s Tail and started whipping him around. “ GET YOUR JAWS OFF ME!!!! PUT THE CAT DOWN! SIT! DROP IT! Noooo!” And on and on Fluffy went. Instinctively Fluffy’s long, sharp claws scraped across Sargon’s furry neck. “YELP!” Fluffy dug so far into the dog’s skin he couldn’t pull his claws out, so he was dangling off off the poor dog’s neck. Sargon rushed to the door and bolted through the little doggy door flap into the house, After a while Mr. post got the cats claws out of the dog. He said “Why don’t you ask for some discipline, Fluffy!” Fluffy said “NO, PLEASE ,NO NOOOOOOOOOO” but all Mr. Post heard was “Meow” as he stuffed him into a metal crate. “I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE” He grabbed the crate and rushed out the door, mumbling under his breath. “It wasn’t suppose to be this way.” as he took him to the pound or as the animals call it prison. One day, as I entered the green forest, on a day like this, a bear did arise He grabbed me fast and said, “At last, I can make human pie!” And off to his cave he dragged me all lame and helpless and afraid And put me in his brewing pot and a bubbling did it make He chopped me up and ate me that day and that is why I can not go for a walk today. Poem by Rylee Oakes Lots of kids aren’t so keen with face masks, none of us are. It bothers us every time we give a friend a high five and get addressed for it. We wish we could sit with each other on the school bus. This pandemic has affected us all. Just know that the teachers, school principal, and staff are going through this with you. It’s not like the teachers want to tell you no for the high fives and the fist bumps. It’s not like the bus drivers enjoy making you sit by yourselves. It's not like the principal likes enforcing social distancing. All of these procedures are made for our safety so we can stay in school. We are in this together, and remember, when this pandemic is all set and done, we will be grateful in how strong we have become and closer (mentally, not physically).
