Rhys:American Eagle Kane Starbooks Readers were awarded second place out of 9 teams at the fall Fretz Middle School Reading Competition on Thursday, November 21st. The team read from a list of 30 books to prepare for the reading competition and worked together as a team to answer questions about the 30 books. The award for most books read was earned by 8th grader Satene Banks for reading 7 of the 30 books. Team captains were Satene Banks, Kate Parana, and Lilly Wymer.

On October 21, 2019, 6th graders Marley Rostan and Isaiah Smith completed the 6th grade Genre Challenge.
Marley’s favorite book/genre was Sisters, a graphic novel, because the pictures add another level of interest to reading. Isaiah’s favorite was On the Run, from the adventure genre. With homecoming right around the corner, an already stressful day at school just got worse. How can Mia focus on school work when she knows the perfect homecoming date is out there. Of course her matchmaking BFF refuses to match her up with Vince, the most popular boy in school. Mia decides to take the extremes and do it herself, but with boys chasing her tail, especially Logan, who seems to like her out of the blue. But how can she keep Robin from finding out what she did and figure out which boy is meant for her. -It’s the perfect high school story. The romantics will find it a fan favorite. -Satene B. The Butterfly Man shared his travels with the 7th graders on Friday Nov 1st. he had brought hundreds of beautiful insects to go along with his story. He explained the process of mounting a butterfly.
