The MS ended their month-long celebration of National Poetry Month with a poetry contest. There were 5 different categories for the contest: Concrete Poetry, Acrostic Poetry, Spine Poetry, Sonnets, and Speak Out Loud (recorded). We had over twenty-five poetry submissions and five students that were recognized and honored for their poems. Congratulations! Josh Morgan worked diligently and didn't stop until 10:10. He wrote his essay on scrap paper and then rewrote it in the booklet! All students, who put forth full effort on Wednesday's PSSA test, had their names placed for a drawing of the second prize. There are still 3 days left of prizes! Got Poetry?? We do! Have you noticed the poems around the school? Please stop and read them, then tell your classmates what a great job they did! Don't forget the contest for poetry is due April 28th! Choices include: Acrostic poems, Book spine poetry, Sonnets, or Concrete poems. Prizes will be awarded for the best poems. Alexa Olmstead lives in Kane with her mom and stepdad. She participates in student council, basketball, volleyball, track, and softball. Her favorite book out of the eight was The Choice by N.
