On November 9, Mr. Sirianni, a teacher at the high school, was a guest speaker for the 6th grade ELA class. Mr. Sirianni talked to the 6th graders about wolves, Dr, McCleery, and his Lobo wolves. Students in 6th grade ELA have been reading about wolves in the United States and about Dr. McCleery's Lobo wolves. The Wolf Man of Kane, PA, or Dr. Edward H. McCleery, is an important part of our town's history. He is the savior of the Lobo wolves, or buffalo wolf. These wolves were about to become extinct, but he saved the last Lobo wolves on earth. Soon after he bought his first wolf, he bought more and raised them. He turned his property on Tionesta Avenue into a wolf enclosures or a tourist attraction to raise awareness about the near-extinction of the Lobo wolves. Later Dr. McCleery moved his wolves to a larger piece of land on Route 6 near Lantz Corners. By Wyatt Jensen Boston Public Library Tichnor Brothers collection #76312
