A Week in the Woods is a children book by Andrew Clements. It is part of his school series and was published in 2002.
When Mark Chlemsley has to move to new Hampshire he decides that there is no point in trying at school, seeing as he will be going to a privet school next year. His teacher Mr. Maxwell doesn't agree with this though. Seeing that Mark is slaking off he decides the kid is no good. So when he invites him to A Week in the Wood, things take a crazy turn. Mr. Clements continues to surprise the world again and again. This fast paced book is stunning. the KAMS once again held its annual Christmas concert on Thursday, December 12th. It of course featured Mrs. Tara Blake, Mr. Henry Sobieski, and Mr. Joseph Thornburg. the concert was recorded and will air on the local radio December 25th at 6 pm. Friday is Role Reversal Day! Student council will be holding a Role Reversal Day Friday December 13th. Student’s dress up like teachers and teachers dress up like students. $1..00 donation. Movie Night! Home Alone Wednesday, December 18 Student council will also be holding a movie night on December 18. The cost is $2 for pre sale tickets and $3 at the door. The movie will start at 6:00 pm and be over at approximately 8:00. Hot Chocolate and popcorn will be supplied for anyone that comes. You can bring bean bags, pillows etc to watch Home Alone. “Why Stay Home Alone when you can Watch Home Alone with friends!” Hope To see you there! Question 1: Do you have any brothers or sisters?
Nate: Yes I have 2 brothers. Question 2: Do you partake in any sports? Nate: Yes I like to play baseball and I am currently playing basketball. Question 3: Where do you live? Nate: I live here in town. Question 4: What else interests you? Nate: Nothing. But I do like to watch basketball and baseball if i’m not playing it. Question 5: Do you have any pet peeves? Nate: Yes I have many of them but chewing with your mouth open is the worst. Question 6: What's your favorite color? Nate: My favorite color is dark green. Question 7: What grade are you siblings in? Nate: My oldest brother graduated and my youngest brother is in preschool. Question 8: Who is your favorite teacher and why? Nate: My favorite teacher is Miss. Barner. She is always nice to me and everyone else. Question 9: What's your favorite food. Nate: My favorite food is Nachos because I love the cheese that goes with it. Question 10: What’s your biggest fear? Nate: My biggest fear is death itself overall. 7th Grade students had the opportunity to put what they have been learning in geography and ELA to practice. In The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, a young Malawian boy, William, teaches himself how electricity works and builds his family a windmill. For the centers, the 7th grade students start with beginner or moderate electricity kit and have the chance to work their way up to advanced kits. Advanced kits have been mastered by: Brayden B, Billy S, Trey B, William C, Rosstan W, Emily S, and Adison J.
Lily Wymer, a Sixth Grader, has finished the Genre Challenge! She read six books from six different genres and scored at least a 70% on her AR quizzes. Lily is an avid reader, her favorite book was ‘Loser,’ a book that has an important theme: the main character is happy with his life even though others do not like him. The author is Jerry Spinelli. Congratulations Lily! Keep reading! Eighth Grader, Sateen Banks, has completed the Genre Challenge, again! She is a voracious reader and completed the challenge all three years it has been offered! She read the required 10 books from 10 different genres and scored at least 70% on each AR quiz. Her teachers and classmates are not only proud of her accomplishments, but also inspired by her and her love of reading! Her favorite genre is Science Fiction. Congratulations Sateen! |
