The 7th graders recently completed a cross-curricular activity centering around the book The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind that they read in social studies class. The book centers around a boy named William who uses a windmill to power a water pump to help his village in Malawi. Students participated in many interdisciplinary activities including applying text structure analysis to background information in ELA and building working wind turbine models in science.
