The Kane Area Middle School Student Council recently held a Book Drive to benefit local libraries. For two weeks, students at the middle school brought in used books. The donations were split between Friends Memorial Library in Kane and the Mount Jewett Memorial Library. Both libraries will put the books into circulation, or they will sell them at their used book sales. The homeroom that donated the most books was awarded with a homeroom period in the gymnasium. Mrs. Michele Smith's homeroom donated a total of 307 books.
