Photos & Report By Jake Carnahan-Curcio The formal this year turned out wonderfully! There were so many students dressed up fancy! The dance was well decorated and was nicely arranged. There was also a really nice selection at the snack table in the cafeteria. This dance actually had the tables out in the cafeteria! Form my understanding, students were complaining during the last dance because there was no where to sit and enjoy snacks. The lovely ladies selling snacks were Mrs. Stanko (who looked very nice in coral) & Mrs. Rook. The snacks that were sold were Cool Ranch Doritos, white cheddar popcorn, Rice Krispies, Scooby Snax, & chocolate bars. Let me just say: they were delicious! Also the ladies said "It's a pleasure doing business with you" after serving every student. The people at the door providing tickets were Mr. Chamberlain & Mrs. Carney. The other two chaperons were Mrs. Kloss & Mr. Mosier. They were out on the dance floor with the rest of the students. It seemed that everyone was indeed enjoying themselves, even with the slight music malfunction at the beginning of the dance. During the dance, I had interviewed a few students. I asked them what their opinions were about the dance. Here are their thoughts: Kaylee Walker: "The dance is great so far!" (said during the dance) Karissa Prosser: "I wish that they had the bleachers down so that we could sit." She had also mentioned that in years before they were down during the dance. Cassie Ford: "Sometimes I wish we had more dances like this" I had also interviewed the person in charge of the dance, Mr. Chamberlain, and Mr. Stanko and Mrs. Carney. Here are their thoughts: Mrs. Carney said that the dance was well attended. She also said that s was wonderful to see students dressed up nicely. The one thing she liked the most was seeing everyone include everyone being kind. She said that is shows that middle school students have a "nice culture". Mr. Stanko said that it was also nice to see everyone dressed up and having a good time. He also said that he liked being able to do a different theme every time. He said that the music didn't go as well as planned but everyone was patient He also complimented the decorations and said that Mr. Chaimberlain did a very nice job. He told me that 155 people came to the dance. He said that there have been dances in the past where 170 or so came but those dances weren't formals. And Lastly, Mr. Chamberlain's opinion. He said that most of the students dressed fantastically and stepped it up. He said that there were many wonderful dresses and bow ties worn. .He was very impressed by the bow ties because he supposedly can't tie a bow tie! And he was happy that the DJ had found new speakers and fixed the mishap with the music. Comments are closed.
