My story begins when I was born. My mother held me tight in her arms crying as she was trying to think of a name for her new little girl. I was so happy when my first birthday came around that I could not bear it anymore. If I had to wait any longer for my cake I was going to freak out. But the morning I woke up and my mom came to get me from my bed I noticed her tummy was bigger than usual. So I asked her “Mommy why is your tummy so big?” And mommy said “ You will have to wait until your presents.” She said with a smile, as she looked at daddy. And he smiled back. Now I was not worried about getting my cake, I wanted my presents! Then we were all done with cake it was time for me to open my presents. My first present was not wrapped though it was in my mommy's tummy. I looked at her confused.
Mommy looked at daddy and they both yelled , ”SURPRISE!” at the same time. I was so confused but then 1 year old me put the pieces together first mommy's tummy was big then my present was in her tummy third well you get it. Then I smiled and laughed because I now knew what my present was. It was a new baby sister. Just so you know I was wishing for a baby sister for quite some time. But then they looked at me and told me, ” We do not know if you are getting a baby brother or sister.” And I answered ,“ But I want a baby sister!” And went to my room thinking how could they not know if they were getting a boy or a girl. I was so confused, but that night when I went to sleep all I could think about was having a little sister to play with all day. The day finally came it was a few days before my 2nd birthday and I was going to have a new little sister. At least that was what I was hoping. And that day grandma came over to watch me. I was so confused why I could not go with mommy and daddy but they said that I would understand when I was older. I was so confused. The next day Mommy came home and called me over. I guess the questioning look on my face gave it away that I wanted to know what it was. She looked at me and told me, “ You have a new little sister!” I squealed and jumped with joy. The next few days I got really annoyed with her because all she did was cry. One time I even went to bed wishing that I did not have a baby sister. Wishing that it was only me, my mommy and my daddy. The next morning I woke up and apparently my wish came true because it was only me and my mommy and daddy. Mommy was crying and I could not understand why. I cuddled up beside her and asked her what was wrong, but all she did was cry. I asked daddy what was wrong with mommy and all he did was tear the house apart looking for who knows what. By the time night rolled around mommy was still crying. Daddy was on the phone talking to somebody I did not know but then when he hug up he looked at me and told me, “ It is time for you to go to bed.” I glanced over to mommy, who by the way was still crying, and answered him, "I do not want to go to bed I want to know what is the matter with mommy!” Daddy sighed and answered, ” Your little sister is gone and mommy is very sad.” I went to bed wishing that my little sister would come back. That night I wished for my sister to come back and the next morning I woke up to my baby sister crying. I think this was actually the first time I was ever happy to hear my sister cry, and it wont be the last... THE END By- Sofia Bailey Comments are closed.
